The Mindfulness Based Stress Management Program is an approach to self-care that focuses on learning to effectively cope with life, loss, illness and chronic pain. A good friend shared a more simple understanding of the Mindfulness practice:
“Mindfulness is about really getting to know oneself with understanding, acceptance, love, and compassion to create a happier, more joyful, more successful, more meaningful, and more loving life for ourselves and those around us.”
During your day retreat for Mindful Living, you will partake in the experiential practice of some basics of the Mindfulness practice while taking time out for you to reenergize and reconnect. You will participate in four mindfulness techniques and receive handouts to take home that will help you sustain mindful living at home and at work.
Lunch, coffee, tea and water included. Dress comfortably, journal optional.

Kimberly Ryan is a bereaved mother. Her son Matthew died suddenly in August 2009 at the age of 27 as a result of complications from addictions. Kimberly had been involved in meditation and alternative health modalities long before the tragic loss of her son, and now uses her knowledge and wellness background to offer a place for other moms who are bereaved.
